What do you want to know?  I am 47, male, live on a small farm in Northeastern Tennessee. I usually work for East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Office of Distance Education working as a fiber optic technician/facilitator.  That's a fancy name for someone who supervises an interactive TV classroom.  No, I do not teach, I am just the babysitter for the students.

I graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Walters State Community College in June of 1999 and a Bachelor of General Studies from ETSU in December of 2001.  Before my  college experience  I was employed by Philips Consumer Electronics for 19 years as an electronic technician.

I earned my first ham license when I was 16 as a Technician in 1975  and was issued the call WA4QZQ.  In 1981 I upgraded to Advanced and changed my call to KB4UG.  During 2000 I upgraded to Extra and was lucky enough to get the vanity call, N4FV.

Bob operating 6 meter SSB from the W4WC repeater site in the fire tower on Camp Creek Bald Mountain South of Greeneville in 2003

I enjoy going to my mountaintop radio site and also VHF/UHF contesting from the fire tower located nearby.  My favorite band is 6 meters and I have earned WAS #1208 (Worked All States) and VUCC #1313 (VHF UHF Century Club) awards on that band.  I also like tinkering with repeaters.  Sometimes  I operate HF or 6 meter mobile from my car.  I am registered on EQSL and I try to keep my log updated there.  If you have made a contact with me, you can retrieve a QSL card from there.
